( a poem for soaking up the baby days )
Go soak up that gorgeous baby of yours mama
The scent, the softness, the smiles, the drama
It’s not too good to be true you know
They’re real
They’re raw
Untouched
Pure
In every sense of the word
Every nuzzle and whimper heard
Lap this time up mama
Our babies grow quick
If we could bottle the scent
Wouldn’t that be a trick
I’m sure we all would
Us mamas, give anything to
Pause right here, and savor
This undeniable intensity
The baby flavour
Make it last forever
My god it’s gorgeous
This baby
Looks at you in that way
That could crack ice
And pierce your heart
Without a second delay
Enjoy it mama
Yes that one
Before too long
It’s all gone
