It's fucking hard.
There are days where you'll want to give up.
Don't be hard on yourself if you do give up!
Those little kiddies are NUMBER ONE.
Today I'm wearing my "Positivity is a choice" t-shirt as I check my accounts and see zero for the millionth month in a row.
BUT!
YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY YOUR BANK BALANCE.

My husband told me prior to this time away, that t My husband told me prior to this time away, that the reason he loves coming home so much, is that our relationship always kicks up a gear.
Being out of my comfort zone (me, not him) means I simply can't be on autopilot.
I have to rehearse my words in my mind when I order bread at the bakery, for example.
Or when buying vitamins for the boys (as I did this morning at the pharmacy)
And so, it's my choice to take my time at last. No longer rushing or fretting or stressing about this or that.
We have deadlines, don't get me wrong, but it's a choice to be stressed out by them.
A calm life is your choice. You just gotta create it.

"What they don't tell you about weaning from breastfeeding" (see BIO link)
Well, you know how hard it was for me to let go 🥺
And now with baby Oli we've hit the age that Benio was when he stopped breastfeeding #16monthsold
😭
Not that I expect Oli to stop at exactly the same time.
But I feel the time with him feeding is short.
I certainly won't be the one who initiates weaning mind you. I always trust nature to run her course.
But still, a little tug at the heart strings this morning scrolling through my photos.
Any other breastfeeding mamas out there? How are finding it?

I wonder if there will ever be an apology from the I wonder if there will ever be an apology from the aggressor?
For having experienced the scale of this senseless invasion, and the families destroyed because of it, my heart will never be the same.
Yesterday we met a Ukrainian family, a mother and two young children in our little Polish town, who happened to be sitting on the same bench as us.
Benio played happily with her two boys in the sunshine.
It was a beautiful expression of cultures that are not separate and individualistic - but who come together through human compassion and understanding.
She was no different to me in character. Smiley, caring, kind, cheerful.
She came from the south, near to Mariupol.
Seeing in the flesh someone who's come from a war zone is totally different to watching it on TV.
A whole flood of emotions hits you.
There is a connection.
An understanding. An anger on their part for lives altered forever.
An empathy that you don't get through a screen.
The tears in her eyes made me well up, as she told us, "Everything will be OK".
"Będzie dobrze" she kept saying. "We will be ok." Her little boys listening.
We wholeheartedly agreed. I told her how strong she is.
How things will get better with time.
We left her sitting in that sunshine, and I mulled over the conversation all evening.
What more could I say? What more could I do? I'm still wondering now.

The usual swings, slides and benches to sit on.
There are bins for the rubbish and slightly wonky goalposts for the football players.
Picture the scene.
Another mum with her kids walks in tentatively.
We don’t look directly at each other at first, though casually glance, hoping not to be noticed by the other.
I’m listening to how she speaks to her daughter, intrigued by what she says and her way of speaking.
She’s looking at what I’m dressed in if I had to make a guess (I catch her looking me up and down several times).
I try a smile, but don’t get one back.
How many other mums are experiencing the exact same thing I think to myself?
