( a poem for when the years fly by )
Where is the time going? He’s now walking, albeit it wobbly And he’s now in preschool Only yesterday Wrapped in a swaddle in my arms, newborn Where is the time going? Yet again, the dishes are dirty The floor is strewn with Duplo And I am here, not tidying But writing, thinking All about you Where is the time going? My love, my man 11 years together Not a moment too soon Where is the time going? We’re getting older Not necessarily wiser Certainly snappier Comes with parenthood, I guess Where is the time going? We were two only yesterday And now we’re four Where is the time going? In the blink of an eye They’ll be gone, to uni, to college And we’ll have worked and worked Missing it all Where is the time going? My love, my man, my rock Don’t miss it, love always Love hard, regret nothing
